All good anglers will tell you of the importance in sinking your leader under the surface film. This is absolutely necessary for both dry fly and wet fly fishing. A great majority of refusals to the dry fly can be directly linked to the leader floating.

Wet flies will sink to depth much more quickly if they are not resisting the water tension on the leader. Nearly 100% of competition fly fishers use leadersink - so should you.
